BTW - I'm open to proposals for dedicated server providers on the East Coast. RIght now we pay about $140/month for a higher end quad-core PC with 4GB RAM and two 7200RPM hdd's with 500GB and 80GB respectively, running Windows Server 2008 web edition with 6,000GB of teir 1 unthrottled 100Mbps bandwidth.
I use the second hard drive to run the +123 server and store backups of everything.
We usually use around 1,000GB bandwidth per month.
I've been impressed with their level of support. I have had to submit two tickets so far, and both were answered within 5 minutes and solved within 10.
The only comparable deals I've seen to limestonenetworks.com is http://www.codero.com
I was seriously considering artofwarcentral.com when we started out, but their prices were considerably higher than competitors.

But, if anyone has a suggestion for an "as good" or "better" deal on the east coast with another provider, toss it up.

Of course, I'm only one player, but an East Coast server would kill it for me playing there. I'm in Hawaii, so my ping is naturally 150-180 to anything outside of the West Coast, and east coast will be far worse. I'm assuming there's a grand total of maybe 2 or 3 Hawaii SWBF2 players here, but please, think of the kittens! :D

SP's old server before they turned into SP was really good. I'm assuming it was either a West Coast server or a Dallas server.

IS it possible to experience lag on the whole server because one jackas was checking and replying his emails while playing?

Well I am located in Puerto Rico with a max 4 mb download cable internet (the max availble here on the island). A year ago when I was in Florida, I had 20 mb download with Verizon Fios. Even though I have less bandwidth, I rarely experience lag. But recently I have had issues similar to Talon's. Last Tuesday I had to restart the JBA server twice due to serious lag complaints (which I was also experiencing) and there were also several players with pings in the high 200's. :ninja:

nananana! My ping's often down to 218 now....which isn't something I expected myself to gloat about until recently.

I'd say a good 80% of lag is caused client side, with today's servers, increase in numbers doesn't affect the server itself at all unless you're talking about a leap from 16-100.
Majority of lag is caused by
Distance to server
ISP
Computer specs in relation to game being played.

[04:30] (SWGO)SWINE*FLU: I reckon so.

what does the allied server (GFAQ/MM) use? I barely if ever lag on their server.
