I do not know where you live but according to internationally recognized documents it is. It was bought with the blood of millions of people for us(you may not understand this concept). While freedoms may not be free it is a right that all people (should) have, yet some countries ignore it. You may believe that people should have to earn their personal freedoms, but they are a privilege that is given freely to us.

So hold on a moment, just because a few pieces of paper say that you have the right makes it true? I'm sorry, I was under the impression that it was something you had to fight for; something i'm sure you have no idea about.

Just because an organization "declares" we have rights does not mean we didn't have it before - freedom is an integral part of the human condition.

And by the way, if you actually read the U.S. Constitution, you'd find it's not about freedom but the framework of the government of the United States.

Okay, you [m'kay], it seems like you need a little [female dog] slap back to reality. First off, the UN was around before WWII (which it failed to stop), known as the League of Nations - but then the world realized that such an idiotically named and completely defunct organization such as that needed a new name, so it became the United Nations (notice the similarity between the two names). And you [m'kay] need to read a textbook if you think that atrocities haven't been committed after the UN was formed: Google "Rwanda Genocide" or "Mahmoud Ahmadinejad" for a couple of the UN's most spectacular failures. They even allowed Ahmadinejad to talk [poo] about the US at the UN headquarters - now, would any self-respecting organization that protects our "rights and freedoms" allow such a douche bag to even step foot on their territory (if I have to spell it out for you, the UN isn't part of the USA even though it's in New York)? I would hope you would say no, since I'd consider you even more of a [m'kay] if you said yes.

Your opinion of the UN is your opinion and others hold different opinions. I will however point out where you are wrong: The Constitution of the United States was amended to allow freedoms these first set of amendments were referred to "The Bill of Rights".
