Because everyone still has to go to school regardless of their religion. What's the problem here again? Why exactly is changing Christian songs in schools such a crime, when if kids started singing songs of the Islamic faith you'd all [poo] enough bricks to build a new White House? There isn't a war on Christmas, we're just finally looking up and seeing "oh hey, a ton of other faiths have holidays around the same time, maybe we don't have to shove our values down their throats". Christmas is one of many, many holidays, and should be treated as one. And taking the Christ out of Christmas? [poo], I guess I and 90% of people I know shouldn't celebrate it, because we don't go to church that day. Aw shucks.

Agreed.

If you boil down the constitution to a single sentence, I think it would go something like this.

"You are free to do whatever you want, provided you cause no damage, physical or property, to anyone else."

America has become all touchy feely and sooooo concerned about "hurting peoples feelings". It makes me want to vomit. We actually have "hate crimes", which is more than a little Orwelian. No one, and I mean no one, has the right to tell me who I can and can't hate. Next will be "thought crimes", as in you thought about it, therefor you are guilty.

I despise all religions and everything they stand for, yet I wish people a "Merry Christmas". I am well aware that Christmas is simply a knock off of Yuletide, a holiday that has been celebrated before recorded history. Altering songs that have been around for decades is crossing the line big time. If people wouldn't be permitted to get all butt-hurt about stupid [poo], maybe this country could get past all the crap and move forward.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no racist. I'm an equal opportunity hater, I [m'kay] hate everyone.

Well, for one, it's very important to accept that ALL sources are going to have some bias. But I'd say newspapers are a decent form of news, such as the New York Times. They have some great writers, and it's actually written at an intelligent level. And I mean the actual paper, not the internet articles. Those are of terrible quality...

True. I also like Time magazine.. I think they are very good too. But seriously, don't you guys get annoyed when the only thing you see in the news is comments about harry, nancy pelosi or newt gingrich? I want real news.

I believe taking Christmas or Holidays out of school is a really bad idea. We used to have Christmas programs where you would practice for a choir or band and perform in front of a live audience and everything. Taking anything that gives kids something to do and keeps them busy is a bad idea. Especially in the Jr. High/Sr. High years. Giving kids things to do is a proven form of keeping them out of trouble.

I understand your view, [m'kay] and I respect it whole heartedly, no one should have a unwanted religion shoved down their throats when they HAVE to be in school.

I normally support Christ being firm in the Christmas holidays, but if we have to level a playing field for schools to celebrate something to keep the kids busy and out of trouble I'm all for it.... Especially in this day and age of easy access to drugs, alcohol, and teenage horniness.. Winter White Elephant celebrations.. something....

Our governor erected a holiday tree at the state house. Really? Cant even call it a christmas tree anymore?
It will be a cold day in hell before I tell someone "happy holidays". Just have a merry christmas no matter who you bow to.

That is impeding on religious freedom, and is just plain wrong.

Impeding on whose religious freedom?... I wonder if someone is offended by the tree because they don't celebrate Xmas.
Just to clarify my last comment; Christmastime can be about goodwill even though the date is based on religion. Trees, presents, elves, and reindeer weren't in the bible
