Personally, I run Microsoft Security Essentials, and I don't think it's ever noticeably affected my PC.

I run Kaspersky. It doesn't slow my computer, and so far, it's done a great job blocking viruses and warning me during visits to all the porno sights. :whistling:

Noticed a vast improvement with good gaming mouse (razer death adder)
-Iobit has game accelerator in junction with Razer.
Pootie Tang will draw you a picture of how he gonna kick your ass, then mail it to you ten days in advance. The picture gets there right? You're goin', "What the hell is this?" and then Pootie Tang knocks on your door, Promptly kicks your ass and you still won't know what happened to you!

Yes. I restart my modem almost daily.

I play SWBF2 on Windows 7 as well. I have the same problem. Sometimes, I visibly shoot in the head at close range with a shotgun and they don't die. I have died many times as a result of not killing the person. The game also randomly stops and shuts itself off, so I have to restart the game and rejoin the server. I've been dealing with it, but I see a post about it and it suddenly become even more annoying. Any advice?

Yeah, that's a pretty common issue amongst people who are bad at video games.

There you go, now that is the proper reaction to when someone posts bull [poo] at you. I'm honestly happy to see that - good work.

Jedi I have somewhat close to the same specs as you. Early on when I first built my system I had similar problems, but I sorted them out within a day.
My system is:

Quad core AMD
Radeon 6570
8GB ram
Windows 7, 64 bit
24" Monitor

As other have mentioned in various parts above, I recommend the following:
1. Right click the game icon and in your settings set your compatibility to Windows XP
2. Run as administrator
3. Remember to apply BFII update patch.
4. Matt's tip on vsync is good too.
5. Clean out your start programs that run at boot. Kill anything not absolutely needed.
6. While I don't subscribe to the same extreme measure of removing your antivirus, I would recommend trying a different one. Norton could very likely be your problem.
7. Something no one has mentioned (or perhaps I have missed it), is go online and make absolutely sure all your drivers are up to date (graphics, network, etc.)

As for restarting your router, I'm not sure what kind of problems you would have to affect it, but I can literally go a year without restarting my router, and only do it because I want to, not because I have to. I have no idea what kind of problems people would be having to require this. If that is a problem for you, then it sounds like you need to change your internet service. Good luck.
